On this occasion the Silennis S020 has been awarded the Silver Delta 2011. The Delta ADI-FAD awards for Industrial Design are some of the most important in this sector in our country. These awards, organised every two years by the Associació de Disseny Industrial i Foment de les Arts i el Disseny (FAD), were presented in the MACBA Auditorium on 7th July. You have until September to visit the exhibition featuring the selected and winning projects in the FAD Headquarters (Plaza de Àngels, 6/Barcelona). The Red Dot Awards got under way in 1955, and are today among the world's most coveted awards for product design. This year 1,700 companies from 60 countries and 4,433 products entered the competition. According to Peter Zec, founder and chairman of Red Dot Awards, it may be obvious that a product's attractive design can create a direct and intuitive connection with the customer. But a good design can and should do much more. In the best cases, it shows the manufacturer's responsibility toward its customers, the environment and everyone involved in the production process. The Silennis S020 is a good example of this.

Following the awards ceremony, to be held on 4 July, the S020 will join the other prize winning products on display at the Zollverein Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany. In its pages, this model is presented as one of the most interesting innovations of the spanish market this year in the segment of pleasure boats. The design of the model and its constructive quality are outlined: they contribute to a significant saving of weight, to a major structural stiffness and to the improvement of the speed features. The configuration and the distribution of the floor plan are also underlined: the balance between interior and exterior spaces guarantees a comfortable use besides assuring its aesthetic continuity. The presentations and workshops _ invite to think about the value of creativity in education, economy and companies. Furthermore, the Museo Marítimo of the city will accommodate the exhibition " Innovation through design " , where dhemen participates with the project realized together with LEM. We believe that this project, born from the close collaboration between this company and our studio, constitutes a good example of how design can update and improve the brand strategy of corporations. From dhemen, we support this initiative because it stimulates the industry we work in and places it in the current context in which design and innovation are, increasingly, drivers for social progress and competitiveness.
