This multifunctional desk system was created for Akaba in collaboration with the architect Patxi Mangado. The name Balu-Arte is taken from the Navarre Convention Centre and Auditorium, where the first series of this model of desks was installed.

From the beginning, the desk system concept was treated as just another element of the architectural language used by Patxi Mangado at Balu-Arte. Pure, stylised lines, clean and functional materials and, above all, great versatility.

If the inside of the Baluarte building is composed of large, versatile, multi-purpose spaces, the desk system we designed for Akaba also shares this versatility, and was designed to be adaptable to each type of event and function. The materials selected are also geared towards such multifunctionality.

The two horizontal extruded aluminium profiles, to which different accessories can be coupled, are very characteristic of this desk. This is a good example of how a functional element can add aesthetic value to an object.

Attention to detail is what differentiates a good product from an excellent product. In a desk system, where there is apparently less room to manoeuvre, these details are even more important. Balu-Arte features a high degree of functional innovation and patented concepts.

The pieces that join the desks together make it possible to arrange the desks in a line or perpendicularly with a single click. The extruded aluminium legs can be placed at the ends or with an adjustable open space on the sides. When two desks are joined, the system allows them to share the middle legs.

There are two horizontal extruded aluminium profiles, to which different top pieces can be attached and different accessories can be coupled, such as a light skirt, skirt-counter+3rd plane, CPU support and lateral separator.

The system also features stoppers or wheels with brakes, both with levelling systems and optional electrical kits.
