Forge Adour wants to take its already-acclaimed range of griddles another step forward and the aim of the project is clear: technology, the latest functionality, and aesthetics are all at the service of the chef, and the user experience is always impeccable, safe and fluid.

The challenge of evolving an already-revered product family begins with an exhaustive human study into each moment and mode of use, leading to fascinating conversations with its experts, technicians, and chefs; immersing us in its raison d’être, its function and feeling. Forge Adour has a very personal way of being and to grasp this is essential in understanding its DNA, and making it tangible through a unique, unmistakable formal system.

Forge Adour is much more than just a griddle. It is iconic, the epicentre of everything happening around it, and the kingpin of many moments in which the simple act of feeding is transformed into sharing the experience around the table.

Adhering to the design criteria tailored for Forge Adour, a complete range of accessories, holders, and adjoining units is developed to allow expansion of the experience. Forge Adour gets right to the heart of the cooking environment, shaping it all the way to the final flourish.

Dhemen stays with Forge Adour throughout the process, from the creative concept, the development of the brand-product values, material selection and finishing, the prototyping, engineering development and subsequent commercialisation.

Understanding gastronomy as an intrinsic part of culture, thoroughly listening and empathising, the marrying of the technical, human and material components with emotion gives rise to a range of timeless and minimalist products, comforting to use, human in feel and professional in result.

Iberdrola

Lazpiur

Evolving along with the needs of their clients brings Lazpiur a precious challenge: Transform their organisation through design.

The new brand strategy developed by Dhemen for Lazpiur is reflected in its new pledge: “Accurate Works” and all of its consequences: new product ranges, formal language, fresh narrative and visual system, a new brand image and a new HQ and production facility.

Lazpiur is a brand offering novel machining solutions and high-precision mechanisation throughout highly diverse sectors, each and every one requiring an elevated degree of specialisation and knowledge of the field

With their two distinct and independent business lines—machining and mechanisation—converging in a singular branding narrative, made tangible and validated across both lines, forming one of the main challenges of the project and, together with the new product range, the principal and most notable change to the new Lazpiur.

Ingraining the brand values in their product is key when defining the visual identity of the new H1 and H2 high speed pin insertion machines.

Now assembled on a new structure, and integrating all the necessary elements for optimal operation, the user is granted full access to the interior and is in control of information and quality at all times.

To this end, the combining of perfectly controlled and defined transparencies, along with exhaustive lighting development, colour treatment and the validation of one prototype after another, has achieved the results demanded by the initial project.

Danobatgroup

Danobatgroup is a reference in the machine tool sector, not solely for being always on the cutting edge of technology, but also for being the first – in the hands on Dhemen – to field an emotional vision of the world of machine tools.

In such a large-scale global product project, preliminary analysis and diagnostics lead into the decision to externalise and allow the perceived quality to become palpable – building on the technological feeling and trust in a family of machines with such diverse morphologies, uses and locations. Distinct spaces are identified, developed and conceptualised: Working Areas, Human Areas, Maintenance Spots and Logistics Areas, which are all encapsulated within the concept of Total Machine.

This concept takes the form of a prism, guiding the design development and transformation of a people-based product narrative. The people who use the machines from their distinct contact points: machinist, engineer, maintenance technician, production manager, site visitor, and so on.

The product strategy defined by Dhemen puts forward its own product system based on the symbiosis between human and machine. This is materialised via a new, formal morphology, an identifiable brand footprint and proper application of the corporate colourway and its hierarchy.

Orbea

In such a competitive sport as cycling, aerodynamics is one of the most critical variables to control, as wind resistance becomes the main challenge once speeds exceed 25 kph.

Orbea, a brand steeped in history, within its ‘marginal gains’ strategy, once again partners with Dhemen to develop the aero version of its triumphant R-10 helmet, developed for them years previously. The challenge involves bringing the characteristics of its predecessor to a stage on which every millisecond counts and everything – no matter how small – adds up.

The original R-10 was born of concepts from which the R-10 Aero takes its lead: Minimal volume on the user’s head, maximum safety and protection in the face of impacts and crashes, together with optimal ventilation and lightness. Thanks to all this, these concepts form a solid base from which to project an innovative helmet; effective while also being comfortable and safe.

The design process carries out once again (as with its predecessor the R-10) an exercise in reverse-engineering, comprising the study of volumes on the cranium of the typical wearer, performing wind tunnel studies, and analysing and processing all information generated by the models.

The result is an extremely well-ventilated helmet, compact and light with minimal wind resistance. It shows that this is not only prized by triathletes or time-triallers, but is also used in the Grand Tours and by amateur cyclists seeking the optimal aerodynamic performance.

Furthermore, it is positioned as one of the safest helmets in its sector, incorporating MIPS® technology (a low-friction slip-plane between the head and the helmet which rotates in the event of an impact).

Velites

In the world of Crossfit and Fitness, Velites is one of the most disruptive and established brands both at national and international level.

Dhemen takes charge of Velites’ new jump-rope range, lending a fresh look to create the best, no-compromise high performance jump-rope possible.

Working with both experts at Velites and their users, the design offers totally new solutions – not only in terms of form but also in function, user experience and efficiency.

Thanks to this, the result was such that it required the use of the American KICKSTARTER platform in order to generate an international crowdfunding programme in order to gauge market interest. They were blown away by the result: pre-order sales of more than €550,000 between the two platforms of Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

Dhemen is responsible for the product design, brand identity and packaging for Velites.

When Dhemen was asked about the ideal way to enjoy waterborne activities in the immediate surroundings while respecting the environment with zero emissions – and in perfect silence – Silennis was the answer.

Silennis is a recreational craft that responds to modern ways of enjoying natural surroundings in a manner that is coherent with the latest approaches to living and experiencing.

The sensation of sailing in silence thanks to its electric motor, listening to its wake rippling on the water, birdsong, or even just the breeze, is heightened by a minimalist user-experience suitable for any kind of user or profile, through solutions for accessibility and handling adapted to a new way of understanding both nature and leisure.

Winner of both the Red Dot Design Award and Delta Design Award, Silennis is a project that Dhemen treated as one of its own.

Eccmax

The world of health and fitness is a hotbed of constant innovation. Eccmax has come up with a system of motorised machines with a brand-new way of developing strength and movement for all types of user, whether they be a professional athlete, average Joe or active retiree.

Dhemen has been collaborating with Eccmax since its conception and has designed the Eccmax Model V and Model L with not just the user in mind, but the environment in which the machine is used. In aiming to humanise and afford the machines a safe and pleasant user experience, the election of the quality of the wood and softness of the material has made it possible to create a product with unique sensations and amazing results.

Eccmax continues to develop its product range through Dhemen, focused on the health sector and on complex rehabilitation processes.

ECCMAX Model L & Model V — RED DOT DESIGN AWARD WINNER

Imat

Imat is a brand specialising in seating elements for waiting areas and it joins Dhemen to design its new airport bench units.

The real challenge of this project lies in the confluence of very different requirements. Comfortable, hard-wearing, easy to clean and maintain are the prerequisites of this project.

Within these criteria, Dhemen designed a modular bench with minimalist lines, neutral and timeless, inspired by the elements of nature and how they solve similar situations.

Through this we find rhythm, repetition, continuity of line, and a morphological simplicity which become a starting point in generating a formal discussion, and give rise to a product totally integrable in many diverse situations and cultures, friendly in use and most of all, suited to the needs of the modern airport.

Dëna

Dëna Toys is a children’s toy brand with a strategy based on the manufacture of safe, fun and creative multi-purpose toys which appeal to a wide range of ages.

Taking the development of the child’s motor, cognitive, emotional, social and sensory skills as both aim and starting point, Dhemen and Dëna offer a toy for children of any age. Whether it be used as a teething ring, drawing template, cookie mould, or much more besides, it is equipped with infinite possibilities for expansion, and stimulation of the child’s emotional growth.

The immediate success of the Car toy has been a stand out, being selected for New York City’s Museum of Modern Art MoMA and sold in the museum’s New York store.
