VERSATILITY AND ADAPTABILITY

The Kea project was the beginning of a long partnership with the BOJ brand, a well-established manufacturer of wine accessories. They needed us to design a new corkscrew with the premise of avoiding using the double push patent of the competition. We created a new system of removing the cork and humanised the product by drawing inspiration from the kea, a New Zealand mountain parrot that resisted and survived a terrible extermination campaign thanks to its versatility and adaptability.

NEW EXTRACTION SYSTEM

Sometimes behind the carefully planned aesthetics of a product there lie simple but ingenious solutions. As with the Cup Cut, with Kea we also designed a new system to avoid using patents belonging to the competition. Thus, we offered a mechanical solution that was faster, easier-to-use and clearer than the solutions that existed at the time.
